Math Anxiety is Real

Most children who struggle with mathematics do not lack intelligence—they lack confidence. Mathematics is a ladder: if a step is missing in basic arithmetic, higher topics like algebra feel impossible. Rebuilding basic foundations turns fear into achievement.

1. Eliminate Negative Math Labels

Never tell a child "Our family is just not good at Maths." Praise effort rather than innate talent. Say: "You haven't mastered this step yet, but with practice you will!"

2. Practice 15 Minutes of Daily Mental Arithmetic

Incorporate quick calculations into household routines: asking your child to calculate total grocery change, calculate recipe proportions, or count items.

3. Focus on Foundations First

Ensure your child has 100% mastery of multiplication tables (1 to 12) and basic fraction additions before pushing them into complex secondary school equations.
